Introducing … the story of Rosalind & William

Happy Tuesday!

Today I am so excited because I am finally able to share with you all the details for my next book -- and it is available on pre-order! It will also be part of Kindle Unlimited.

Not only that, but the cover is ready, and I love it so much. I hope you do as well.

This is the fifth book in my Happily Ever After series. While you met both Rosalind and William in He’s a Duke, But I Love Him, this is a standalone novel. That being said, now is a great time to get caught up on the previous books.

I will be sharing with you more about this book in the coming weeks, but for today I will leave you with this beautiful image as well as the description of the book. If you have any feedback on the description, please send it my way!

Would you like to receive advance copies of my books?

Hi everyone!

I am getting so excited to share with you my next book, for which I now have a title! It will be called Loved by the Viscount and is the fifth book in my Happily Ever After series.

I am doing a bit of a revamp of my advanced reader team. Rest assured, if you are currently on the team and have consistently reviewed my books, you will stay on the team. It would make it a bit easier for me if you are able to fill out the form as well, but if you do not, I will be sure to reach out and confirm you would like to remain with me, as I so appreciate all the time you have taken to read and review my books.

If you are not currently on the team and would like to know more about it, I’ll give you a little more info. My advanced readers receive a copy of the book about two weeks before it goes live on Amazon. The book is very close to the final version, although readers must understand that it there may be the odd typo as I complete the final version. A couple of days before the book goes live, I send a reminder link to review the book on Amazon. I also appreciate Goodreads reviews!

While you do not have to download each book I send, as I know everyone is busy, if you do download a copy, I will look for a review.

Our next Happily Ever After

Happy Tuesday! As I teased you last week, I am busy working away on the next book in my Happily Ever After series. IN FACT, I just sent it to my editor last week! This book is about Rosalind, who you met in He’s a Duke, But I Love Him. Our hero is William Elliott, also known as Olivia’s friend “Billy.” When I began writing this book, I knew that Rosalind was not the strong-willed woman Olivia was. She was a bit more hesitant, a bit quieter, and slowly I realized that she was just like me! You would think this would make her an easy character to write, but in fact, it almost made it more difficult. I know you all love a strong woman, and I promise that she is strong; her strength is of a different sort, and her journey to realize that she is a capable, independent woman is one that will have you rooting for her. I’ll share more in the coming weeks as we get closer to a release date.

Now that the book is to the editor, I have begun working on my next story! In reviews for Hope of Romance, many of you noted your hope for Daniel's story. Well, good news! I have just finished the outline, and I am REALLY excited to write this one. Sparks are going to fly!

Have a wonderful week, everyone.

Sunshine and Smiles

Spring is finally here, and it feels so wonderful! There’s something about the warm weather and sunshine that instantly uplifts my mood. As I plan to spend plenty of time outside in the yard this spring and summer with my computer writing away, I am working hard on determining how to create a beautiful backyard oasis! Are there any gardeners out there? I may have to call on some expertise as I begin to plant…

Hope of Romance has now been out for two weeks, and I love the reviews that have been coming in about it! It currently has only 4 and 5 star ratings on Amazon, with reviews such as this one…

Ok guys, I'm just jumping off the deep end. If you're looking for romance, suspense, adventure, wit and charm, congratulations my friends you've found it. Ellie once again catapults us back to the regency era with all the drama, heartache and despicable rakes we've come to expect. The characters and scenes are so realistic their mesmerizing and on point. I thoroughly enjoyed watching the characters and their personalities transform and blend. With life like quality and vivid detail we're held captive as the tale unfolds. A word of advice. When you grab your copy, grab a snack, a drink, a comfy seat, kick back and relax. You won't be putting this little gem down until the last word. Fantastic job Ellie. Thanks for sharing

If you haven’t read it yet, now is the time!

In the meantime, I am busy working on the next book in my Happily Ever After series. The first draft is complete, with the second go-around nearly finished! It’s a crazy cycle to produce books, and I’ve found it is extremely important to have a really good schedule in place. There are a few different characters I went back and forth on for this book. I also had a bit of difficulty writing this one, for reasons I will share with you next week. I will also tell you who the hero and heroine are! In the meantime, I would love for you to guess. Head on over to my Facebook page to join the discussion!

Thank you!

To all of my amazing readers, thank you so much! I appreciate all of your preorders, all of your reads, and all of your kind words and reviews. I love that you love Polly and Sebastian.

For anyone who hasn't yet read Hope of Romance, it is only 99 cents, and of course free in Kindle Unlimited. The link is below.

I have just returned from a week’s holiday with my family, and it was absolutely lovely. It was exactly what I needed -- some time in the sun, and simple rest and relaxation. Since I began publishing my books, I have never actually taken time off! Until this February, I was working another job so every spare moment was spent writing. Now that I am able to write full time, I am more structured, and so I was able to build in an actual vacation! Yes, I did answer emails and of course check to see how the launch was going, but it was so lovely to simply spend time with my husband, my son, my parents, and, when I had a moment, to actually spend some time reading myself!

Below are some reading recommendations for you, if you are looking for something new. One book is a contemporary read; the rest, historical romance. I would also love to know what else you are enjoying lately -- any classics I should pick up? New favorites?

The wait is over -- Polly's story is now available!

I am so excited for you to finally have the opportunity to read Polly and Sebastian's story! In this fourth book of the Searching Hearts series, Polly and Sebastion must overcome their past hurts and differences to find love.

I know I have already shared quite a bit of the inspirations of this book with you, but I am happy to answer any questions you may have about the story. I hope you love the story and the characters as much as I do. Enjoy, and let me know what you think! I would also love for you to leave a review.

Discover more about Hope of Romance!

I am getting so excited to share Hope of Romance with you! Polly was a really fun character to write about, and I especially loved detailing the dresses she wears throughout the book. You can see the inspirations for dresses, locations, our hero and heroine and more on the Pinterest board I created for the book! Check it out and let me know what you think.

The release is only one week away and then we will have only one book remaining in our Searching Hearts series (Daniel's story) — can you believe it? In the meantime, I am hard at work on the fifth book in the Happily Ever After series. This one is a little different, and I feel like I am putting more of myself into it than any story I’ve ever written before. More on that to come in future weeks.

Join me this afternoon at 2 pm CST for a Facebook Live video! I'd love to talk more with you.

I am also getting our family ready for a vacation next week! We still have snow on the ground here, so I am really looking forward to some sun. Before I go, however, I must ensure my book launch is well planned out, so wish me luck!

Hope of Romance

Happy spring! Well, that is, happy spring to those of you on the same side of the world as me, and to those of you have actually seen spring. We just received 4 inches of snow this weekend! However, once spring does come, and it will, I will be that much more grateful.

Lots to get to today!

First of all, thank you so much for your input on the dress for my next cover. I can tell you that ?? % of you chose the gold dress, so that’s what we are going with! My cover designer is hard at work.

On that note … I have finally chosen a title! If you have read my newsletters or social media posts before, you will know that I find it harder to choose a title that write a book lol. But, I am pleased to tell you that the next book of my Searching Hearts series, Polly Harrington’s story, will be titled Hope of Romance.

Polly’s hero is Lord Sebastian Taylor, who you met as Joshua Greville’s good friend in Clue of Affection. And the inspiration for Lord Taylor is the man in the photo, Josh Holloway. A little rugged, but a sexy rugged, of course.

We are inching ever closer to the pre-order for this book, and I am excited to continue sharing more about it with you.

We are coming up to a long weekend here, and I hope you all are able to enjoy it. If you’re looking for some new reads, I have a few giveaways below for you to check out.

Have a lovely week!

Learn more about Polly and Sebastian!

I have just sent off the manuscript for the fourth book in the Searching Hearts series to the editor! If you want to know a little more about what’s coming, see inside my mind through my Pinterest board, which holds my inspirations for the book.

My cover designer and I are also trying to determine which photo we'd like to use for the cover. The lovely members of my Facebook group helped me narrow it down, but we still have two to choose from. We will, of course, have a different backdrop, but which dress do you prefer? Click on the photo you like best!

Thank you!

More Harringtons!

We are just over a month away from the release of the fourth book in the Searching Hearts series! We follow Polly’s love story, with a character you have met before, in Clue of Affection -- Lord Sebastian Taylor, the good friend of Lord Joshua Greville. I know many of you enjoy the character of the Duchess of Ware, Marie, and I am pleased to say she has more of a role in this story than any of the others so far. It will be on pre-order at the beginning of April, and I look forward to sharing it with you! I haven’t quite decided on a title yet (I find titling a book so hard!) but once I do, you will be the first to know.

I would also like to thank you everyone who answered last week’s survey. Here are some results, if you are interested. The percentages are of all those who answered.

Thank you for letting me know! I will certainly take your thoughts into consideration as I begin new stories.

I’d love to know…

Awhile ago, we discussed this in a newsletter and survey, but many new readers have joined since then! I have found Regency readers have fairly varied tastes on the steaminess of their books. So I would like to know more about what you think! Click below what best describes you:

I prefer to read books with some steamy love scenes.

It doesn’t matter to me.

I prefer sweet and wholesome stories without steamy love scenes.

Thank you for letting me know!

I am so happy to have met all of you who have joined our Facebook group! If you haven’t yet joined, see the link below. I would so love to have you with us.

I would also like to know what you think of He’s a Duke, But I Love Him. I am absolutely humbled by all of the amazing reviews and it’s place on Amazon’s bestseller lists. Thank you all so much! If you have read and haven’t had the chance to review, I would love for you to do so!

We have a few "themed" posts, but this group is yours to post what you'd like. When you join, you will see a video I made telling you a bit more about me. We would love to hear more about you as well, however you’d like to post it!

Happy Valentine's Day!

If you enjoy reading my books, that tells me that you must be something of a hopeless romantic, as I am. What does that really mean, to be a hopeless romantic? To me, it simply means that you believe in love. And what is so wrong with that?

Tomorrow, we celebrate love on Valentine’s Day, but as avid romance readers, I like to think we are lucky enough to experience and celebrate love each and every day. For me, books have always been my happy place. They have been somewhere I can escape to when I feel overwhelmed by the “real world,” and they are also somewhere I can enjoy myself in moments of peace and relaxation.

I would like to share with you a bit of the research that goes into each of my books. I often look to both actors for physical inspiration or save items of historical fact that go into the plot line. I’ve saved much of this in pinterest board, so you can learn more about the thoughts behind each book. I hope you enjoy seeing inside my crazy mind! You can check out the boards at the link below. Enjoy!

And guess what -- only one more week until He’s a Duke, But I Love Him is released! I can hardly wait. :)

He’s a Duke, But I Love Him

All of your questions have now been answered! I’m so excited to reveal the cover, title and description of my next novel!

He’s a Duke, But I Love Him tells the story of Olivia and Alastair, and is now available for pre-order! This is the first time I’ve done a pre-order on one of my books. What this means is once it’s released, if you have pre-ordered, you will be the first to receive a copy.

I fell in love with these characters in Once Upon a Duke’s Dream, and I just knew they had to have their own story.

Lovely to meet you ~ Lady Olivia Jackson

Last week we met Alastair’s inspiration from my upcoming book, and today we meet the inspiration for our heroine, Lady Olivia Jackson -- none other than the beautiful Scarlett Johannsen. For those of you who met Olivia in Once Upon a Duke’s Dream, what do you think? Did you picture her like this?

Regency Dress

As readers of regency romance, I know you are well aware of the beautiful gowns and dress styles. If you could, would you love to dress in such styles, or do you prefer simply reading about them?

I think the gowns are gorgeous, and I would love to wear one just once to a fun event. However, the thought of wearing all of the layers of clothes every day exhausts me just thinking about it -- as does the idea of having to change dresses throughout the day! I much prefer my sweats and t-shirts. The typical woman in the regency era, such as Olivia in my upcoming novel, wore a chemise, stays, drawers, petticoat, stockings, garter, and the dress itself. You will see that Olivia isn’t a fan...

Let me know your thoughts on my Facebook page!

I was also very honored to be featured this week on the blog “Buried Under Romance.” Check it out here -- you could win an Amazon gift card for commenting!

I’d also like to let you know about a neat opportunity with my friend Emily Murdoch. She has launched a special offer: if you pledge £19/$25 to her Kickstarter campaign, you’ll get eight ebooks, a signed paperback, an exclusive limited edition bookmark AND a digital surprise! There are rewards for just £4/$5, and opportunities to name characters and make plot decisions, so make sure you grab your rewards before they run out!

Emily also wrote a guest blog on website exclusive for you! You can find it on my website here.

Ravishing Regencies Kickstarter Means You Can Decide the Plot!

Today we welcome Emily Murdoch, historical romance author, who has just launched her first Kickstarter campaign that gives readers the chance to get rewards, name characters, and make plot decisions!

Ravishing Regencies Kickstarter.png

Hi Emily! Tell us a little about yourself.

Hello there! I am an author who writes in the medieval, Regency, and Western eras and I live just down the road from Bath, England. I absolutely love cheese which I use as a writing reward if I’m having a tough day, and I’m starting to get a bit obsessive with the number of books I’m buying!

What makes Ravishing Regencies such a unique opportunity for readers?

I absolutely loved those books that you had as children, where you got to choose your own adventure! Each page had a decision, and you wandered through the tale trying to survive, find treasure, or solve puzzles. If you loved that just as much as I did, then Ravishing Regencies is your chance to do exactly that with Regency romance! I am running a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds for publishing the books, and rewards for supporting include naming characters, and making plot decisions for them!

Who is your favourite character in the series?

I think it has to be Teresa. Miss Teresa Metclafe is actually based on a friend of mine (who shall remain anonymous!), and in her book, Drenched with a Duke, she finds herself the unlikely host of Alexander, the Duke of Caershire, after he saves her from drowning. She’s fiery, witty, and completely determined to get her own way. What’s not to love?

Not all of us have heard about Kickstarter before – can you explain it a little?

Sure thing! Kickstarter is a website where creators can find people to support their creations! It’s packed with artists, authors, and other artisans who have fantastic ideas, but not the money to see them through. By pledging a certain amount, the supporters gain unique rewards, and if the campaign is successful then it receives all the money that the creator needs.

What happens if you don’t receive the full funds?

If the target is not reached, then no one is charged anything. I’m asking for £1500 for the eight novella series, which is less than £190 per novella! I am really hoping that Regency romance lovers will join my Ravishing Regencies Team to bring these books to life.

What is your favourite reward?

I think it has to be the naming of a character; names have such power over characters, and I am happy to slightly change the way that characters act and speak once my special backers have chosen them, and that collaborative experience is going to be so exciting!

Thank you so much, Emily, for spending time with us today. Good luck with your Ravishing Regencies Kickstarter!

Get Some “Manspiration”

Brrrr… I don’t know about you, but it is so cold here where I live! At night I sit in front of the fireplace, curled up with a good book (or my laptop if I have more writing to do!) and picture myself lying on the beach somewhere. How about you, what is your weather like? Are you escaping it to go on a warm holiday? We just booked a vacation for April and I can’t wait!

Many of you have already read Once Upon a Duke’s Dream, which I released in November, but it seems to be resurging as a fan favorite! If you haven’t read it, it is a story of an evil stepbrother, espionage, and, of course, love. It currently has a 4.7 rating out of 5 on Amazon. “The characters are well written and they pull you into the story. This book kept me turning the pages to find out what happened and will keep your interest until the end!” is just one example of a review.

I would also suggest you read it to get excited about my next release -- we are a few weeks away, but I’d like to introduce you to a little “manspiration,” as a few of my author friends call it. When writing, we often model our characters, particularly our heroes, off of men we know, either in our lives or who we see on the big screen. I have done this before for my novels, but this time, I am so excited because my hero is modeled off of none other than Chris Hemsworth, who I am secretly in love with. I’ve included one of my fav pics of him, acting in the role of Alastair Finchley, who you will meet in Once Upon a Duke’s Dream. I hope you enjoy :)

And don’t forget! The Facebook contest for a $15 Amazon gift card is still ongoing. Head on over to my page to enter.
